Become a member of the Swiss Memorial Network
The Swiss Memorial Network is expanding its circle and is now open to admitting Associate Members. We invite stakeholders from research, education, and Switzerland’s culture of remembrance to join a growing and vibrant network dedicated to addressing the crimes of National Socialism and fascism and remembering their victims.
After an intensive development phase, the Swiss Memorial Network Association is now open to Associate Members. We invite organizations, institutions and initiatives (legal entities) based in Switzerland or neighboring countries that that work exclusively or regularly on Switzerland-related topics concerning flight and persecution in the context of National Socialism, fascism, and World War II.
Membership offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing, vibrant network and to engage in professional exchange. The network’s planned activities include, for example, organising conferences and workshops.
A Network for Remembrance
The Swiss Memorial Network is organized as an association and receives financial support from the Federal Office of Culture (FOC). The founding members are the Canton of St. Gallen, the Archives of Contemporary History at ETH Zurich, the Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Basel, the Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities (SIG), and the City of Bern. The association’s administrative office is hosted by SIG.
The Network aims to connect stakeholders and initiatives related to the Swiss Memorial and, in cooperation with the Jewish Museum Hohenems, to advance the development of the planned transnational Education Center in Diepoldsau (SG). The Network works closely with the Supporting Association for the Swiss Memorial, which plans and supports the future operation and further development of the memorial site in Bern. It plans and supports the future operation of the memorial site in Bern and its further development.
